The Supreme Court: Today's Supreme Court
Today's Supreme Court is likely to be called on to decide cases that will affect many people, including rights for minorities, the right to bear arms, and the powers of law enforcement versus people's right to privacy. This video needs to have an explanation of judicial review before it is shown. The content is about some decisions that may change society.
Express Roles
The United States Constitution outlines several of the president's roles and powers, while other roles have developed over time. The presidential roles expressly defined, or enumerated, in the Constitution include those of Commander-in-Chief, Chief Executive, Head of State, Chief Diplomat, and Legislator. Traditional Roles and Special Powers
While in office, the president is the national head of his political party. Grounded in tradition, this role carries special privileges as well as many responsibilities. The privileges include having a heavy influence on the party's platform, choosing party leaders at the national committee level, and becoming the goodwill ambassador for the party by building relationships with state and local party leaders.
