"DMC Upside": Anything But a Boat Contest
Del Mar College students took part in an engineering contest sponsored by the Science, Engineering and Math Majors Organization. The Oct. 22, 2012 contest consisted of two competitions: a mass-holding contest and a propulsion race.
This segment of the "DMC Upside" television program was featured in the November 2012 edition, which airs on cable channel 19 in Corpus Christi. The "DMC Upside" is produced by DMC TV.

Nottingham bioengineer animates his own cycle accident
Dr McNally, from The University of Nottingham's Faculty of Engineering, suffered three neck fractures, a lower back fracture and three cracked ribs when he was knocked from his bike on the A60 near Bradmore in Nottinghamshire on his way home from work at 10.30pm on May 21 2010. He survived to tell the tale and warn others of the dangers.

When a real butterfly specimen in the coyote diorama was deemed beyond restoration, a decision was made to create a model. Conservation Fellow Bethany Palumbo explains the process, which included photocopying Museum specimens for the top-wing view, hand painting the underside, and building up the butterfly body with layers of glue.
The restored Hall of North American Mammals reopened October 2012.
