Effects of an Active Learning Environment: Teaching Innovations at a Research I Institution
This is a link to a JCE paper (JCE subscription required to access pdf file) describing a study of two instructional formats - passive lecture and a student-centered collaborative learning method that demonstrates the significance of group work in problem solving for a general chemistry course. As such this paper should be of interest to faculty interested in active learning methods.
