Design for the Ripple Effect: How Small Acts Lead to Big Change
Dr. Jennifer Aaker, General Atlantic Professor of Marketing at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, tells the inspirational story of Sameer Bhatia and Vinay Chakravarthy, two friends who were diagnosed with leukemia. Their mutual friends were spurred to act and through social media started a movement for South Asian leukemia patients everywhere. Dr. Aaker explains how happiness was created through what on the surface was a sad event.

Tina Modotti and the Mexican Renaissance
Italian-born photographer Tina Modotti (1896-1942) worked in Mexico between 1923 and 1930, a period known as the Mexican Renaissance. A member of the Communist Party, Modotti not only pioneered modernist photography in Mexico but also used her images as tools for constructing Mexican cultural nationalism and advancing the cause of the proletariat. Albers will map selected Modotti photographs onto the complex artistic, social and political terrain of the Mexican Renaissance and examine their rich
