Jacob Lurie: Finiteness and Ambidexterity in K(n)-local stable homotopy theory (Part 2)
Jacob Lurie, Harvard University Abstract: Dijkgraaf-Witten theory is an example of a topological quantum field theory. It gives a procedure for manufacturing manifold invariants from a finite group G and a cohomology class in the n-th cohomology of G with coefficients in the non-zero complex numbers. Attempting a similar construction where the field of complex numbers is replaced by an arbitrary field k, one encounters some obstacles when the characteristic of k divides the order of G. I'll di
Kevin Costello: Supersymmetric gauge theory and derived geometry, Lecture 2
Kevin Costello, Northwestern University Abstract: Most mathematical work on supersymmetric gauge theories has been through their topological twists. These lectures will be about partially-twisted supersymmetric gauge theories, which are closer to the full physical theory. These partial twists have natural interpretations in terms of derived moduli of bundles.
