Filopodia are narrow spikes on cells, and function as antennae for the cells to probe their environment. Researchers at Duke Medicine, including Asako Tsubouchi, PhD, and Dan Tracey, PhD, are studying filopodia in fruit fly cells to learn more about the sense of touch.
