The Global Terrorism Database is a free open access database on terrorism which is maintained by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), a center associated with the US government Department of Homeland Security. It provides information on terrorist attacks, bombings and incidents worldwide from 1970-2007 (with planned future annual updates). This site provides free access to the full text of a report published by Congressional Research Service as RL30261 in December 2009. The 107 page report contains detailed statistics on women in the US Congress. It includes lists of women office holders, data on offices held, length of service, party and ethnic group.
