Market research
Market research I'm required to design a self-study resource which could be used to support low attaining (below grade C) pupils when completing individual GCSE project work for Design & Technology. the resource should enable them to effectively present market research of their products. Please could you suggest any websites that may have some good examples?
Successful teachers in schools in challenging circumstances.
The research sought to illuminate notions of ‘successful teachers’ by examining those factors contributing to the success of teachers working in schools in challenging circumstances. It also sought to contribute to debates over what ‘challenging circumstances’ might be. This was a joint research project between Lancashire LEA and St Martin’s College.
The role of teachers in the assessment of learning
This is a pamphlet from the Assessment Reform Group that resulted from the Assessment Systems for the Future project funded by the Nuffield Foundation, published in 2003. The assertion is that assessment focused on testing will divert teaching and learning, and ultimately have a negative impact on children and schools. Evidence demonstrates that in England the current testing regime results in a curriculum that is narrowed, pupils at the borders of levels are focused upon at the expense of other
Hidden curriculum, hidden feelings; emotions, relationships and learning with ICT and the whole chil
A research paper presented to the BERA conference in 2002, now available through Education-line. The paper describes early findings from a two year project entitled ‘ICT and the whole child’ and examining the impact of the provision of enhanced ICT resources on a Year 2 class in a UK primary school.
Learning Through Play - Mathematical Development
This resource is a 15 minute Teachers TV programme which reports on one example from a 2004 project involving over 40 schools in Wales that piloted a play based curriculum for 3 – 7 year olds. The programme gives examples of the practices in mathematics of one school’s work with a Nursery and Foundation Stage unit.
Whole Class Teaching Strategies and Interactive Technology: towards a connectionist classroom
An online research paper describing a small scale research project exploring the use of Interactive Whiteboard technology in a primary school over the period of a week.
Who Stays in Teaching and Why: A Review of the Literature on Teacher Retention
This is a literature review on teacher retention in US public schools. The publication incorporates a range of empirical work on the career decisions made by teachers, drawing on a wealth of factors which impact on teacher retention. The research is provided as part of The Project on the Next Generation of Teachers, based at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in the United States.
Teaching using digital video in secondary schools
This unit explores the role of digital media as a teaching tool, focussing on video in particular. we will examine the process of how you can start to use digital video in the classroom, and how to manage your project from objective setting, through story boards and filming, to assesing the success of your project.

2.3 Summary and conclusions
This unit examines system engineering and why it is important. You will learn to identify and evaluate the importance of relationships within the process and assess the relative importance of stakeholders. You will also be able to classify a systems engineering project in terms of the balance of demands, choice and constraints.
2.1 The development of engineering
This unit examines system engineering and why it is important. You will learn to identify and evaluate the importance of relationships within the process and assess the relative importance of stakeholders. You will also be able to classify a systems engineering project in terms of the balance of demands, choice and constraints.

1.2 The Sandham Memorial Chapel So let us turn first of all to the visual arts, and see how one artist, Stanley Spencer, created a memorial to those who died in the First World War. Spencer was profoundly affected by his experience of the war, and decorated the walls of a chapel especially designed to display his work. First of all, it will help to have a few biographical details. This is not because you could not understand his painting without knowing about him: you could certainly pick up a lot of information about
Completing the project
This unit will examine the particular issues that arise in bringing a project to a close, and ways of evaluating a project on its completion. The key components of project closure will be identified and discussed and their importance in ensuring that the aims and objectives of a project have been successfully attained will be explored. After studying this unit, you will be able to plan an effective project closure.
