Apple Cup Rivals Contribute to Apple Genome Sequencing
PULLMAN, Wash. — An international team of scientists from Italy, France, New Zealand, Belgium and the USA have published a draft sequence of the domestic apple genome in the current issue of Nature Genetics.
The availability of a genome sequence for apple will allow scientists to more rapidly identify which genes provide desirable characteristics to the fruit and which genes and gene variants provide disease or drought resistance to the plant. This information can be used to rapidly improve

A Model for Interoperability in Computer Supported Collaborative Learning
Computer Supported Collaborative Learning
activities involve combination of complex software
tools that often need to interoperate in a wider context
of learning. This paper proposes a data model that
accommodates requirements of typical collaborative
learning situations and facilitates interoperability of
tools and interchange of products of collaboration and
evaluation data. The model has been tested against
various typical tools used for both synchronous and
asynchronous collaboration of grou

Shear force : presentation transcript
This is a presentation about Shear Force (HNC In Engineering – Mechanical Science Edexcel HN Unit: Engineering Science (NQF L4)). A graphical method to determine the shear force and bending moment distribution along a simply supported beam is given. A suitable example is used to illustrate the major steps in the process. A sample calculation for the determination of the maximum stress values is also provided.
