The Use of Open Education Resources at the University of Malawi (UNIMA)

Considering the challenge of providing quality, cost-effective learning resources, it made sense that UNIMA should experiment with using OER. Through grants from the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the International Association for Digital Publications and OER Africa, an initiative of the South African Institute for Distance Education, were able to facilitate these projects.

Article :: Round Trip Between Illustrator/Photoshop and Flash Catalyst
What’s easier than creating the content (look and feel) for your project in Illustrator and/or Photoshop, then bringing that directly into Flash Catalyst? Okay, if it was created for you, that would be easier… Brian Wood shows you how Flash Catalyst enables you to add interactivity to that content and export it in the correct format or hand it over to an Adobe Flex developer to add database integration, and much more.

6.172 Performance Engineering of Software Systems (MIT)
Modern computing platforms provide unprecedented amounts of raw computational power. But significant complexity comes along with this power, to the point that making useful computations exploit even a fraction of the potential of the computing platform is a substantial challenge. Indeed, obtaining good performance requires a comprehensive understanding of all layers of the underlying platform, deep insight into the computation at hand, and the ingenuity and creativity required to obtain an effec

1.5 Water power This second phase was achieved by focusing on the water-power potential of the site. Water power had been the catalyst for the original industrial development, and it seemed apt to capitalise on that. It was decided to install a new waterwheel where the original one had been. This provided an important visitor attraction, and also presented the opportunity to use the waterwheel to generate electricity for the site, thus providing significant cost savings. Furthermore, as part of that building
2.3 Is religion a museum piece? We have used the video sequence below to highlight the emic/etic problem and we would like you to carry out a short exercise using it to consolidate your understanding of these terms. The video introduces St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art in Glasgow, which has been described as the first public museum of religion in the world. Do note, however, that the Museum of Religions at the University of Marburg, Germany was founded in 1927 by Rudolf Otto. It contains a considerable number
