El objeto de estudio de la asignatura es el análisis del papel de los mercados en el proceso social de asignación de los recursos escasos. Partiendo de modelos básicos de elección del consumidor y de la empresa se fundamentan modelos más generales sobre el funcionamiento de los mercados. A la vez que se presentan estos modelos estandarizados se introduce al alumno en la construccción y manejo de modelos microeconómicos sencillos.
