Cheng discussed pandemic operational issues, from screening and out-patient visits to in-patient planning. Dr. Estella Whimbey examined vaccination and treatment of pandemic infections, including special issues regarding pregna
Photonic Dipole Contours of Ferrofluid Hele-Shaw Cell (Two Magnet Pole Video)
This investigation describes and demonstrates a novel technique for the visualization of magnetic fields. Two ferrofluid Hele-Shaw cells have been constructed to facilitate the imaging of magnetic field lines. We deduce that magnetically induced photonic band gap arrays similar to electrostatic liquid crystal operation are responsible for the photographed images and seek to mathematically prove the images are of exact dipole nature. This is the two magnet version with the poles mostly facing the

Misoriented interphase boundary between h-BN and SiC grains
The micrograph shows misoriented interphase boundary between h-BN (precipitate) and SiC grains (within a silicon nitride particulate-reinforced silicon carbide composite). The occurrence of BN inclusions results from the introduction of colloidal BN into the hot isostatic pressing process. They are formed from B2O3 present as a thin surface film on the BN particles in the barrier layer. B2O3 will be molten during the pressing process and will diffuse rapidly into the powder compact and react wit
9.03 Neural Basis of Learning and Memory (MIT)
This course highlights the interplay between cellular and molecular storage mechanisms and the cognitive neuroscience of memory, with an emphasis on human and animal models of hippocampal mechanisms and function. Class sessions include lectures and discussion of papers.
Netduino Controlled LED Cube Commercial LED cubes have been around for a while now and can be quite large and capable of some interesting displays. This project is on a smaller scale and goes through the steps required to build a Netduino Mini-controlled 512 LED cube (8 x 8 x 8). Clearly, the Mini does not have 512 pins and so we use Persistence of Vision to control the LEDs in the cube. The
