Solar System!
ࡁn introduction to our solar system: the planets, our Sun and our Moon. Students begin by learning the history and engineering of space travel. They make simple rockets to acquire a basic understanding Newton's third law of motion. They explore energy transfer concepts and use renewable solar energy for cooking. They see how engineers design tools, equipment and spacecraft to go where it is too far and too dangerous for humans. They explore the Earth's water cycle, and gravity as applied to or

Greek Gods
This video is contains a comic book type explanation of the Greek Gods. This is ideal for students and can be stopped to allow the students to take notes about each one. Symbols are used that could result in good discussion as well. Cartoon images and written information are set to music. (03:36)
Curled up pill bug
This pill bug, sometimes called a woodlouse, sow bug, or roly poley, is curled into a ball to protect itself. Pill bugs often do this as a defensive measure so that anything that might attack it has a harder time getting to its underside.
Ramp and Review (for High School)
In this hands-on activity rolling a ball down an incline and having it collide into a cup the concepts of mechanical energy, work and power, momentum, and friction are all demonstrated. During the activity, students take measurements and use equations that describe these energy of motion concepts to calculate unknown variables and review the relationships between these concepts.

3.5.3 Single participant interventions A single participant intervention study, studies the effects of an intervention in the case of one person, with the aim of establishing those elements of the intervention which would work with the majority of people. This is because the method assumes that in all important respects, all human beings are the same, and the effects of the intervention in one case should be the same in all cases. It is a method that belongs to objectivity. 3.3.1 Multisensory teaching for students Guyer et al. (1993) tested the effectiveness of the Wilson Reading System for improving spelling in higher education students with dyslexia. They compared this technique to a non-phonic approach that teaches visual memory techniques to help students to remember frequently misspelled words. A control group of students with dyslexia but who had specifically requested no intervention formed the control group. Both intervention groups were tutored in the given technique for two, one-hour sessions 2.3.1 Sex differences An intriguing aspect of dyslexia is the apparent excess of males who are affected. This could simply reflect referral bias – a tendency for boys to be identified as dyslexic more readily than girls. In the past, society's expectations of boys and girls were very different with respect to educational achievement. There is now much less overt stereotyping of this kind, but there may still be other reasons why dyslexia might be more readily identified in boys. For example, eviden 2.1 Behavioural, cognitive and biological perspectives So far we have discussed what contributes to our ideas of ‘abnormality’ and these issues have been illustrated by examining the real-life example of dyslexia. We will now consider the different potential explanations that have been offered to account for the observed symptoms of dyslexia. Uta Frith (1999) has provided a useful framework for thinking about the nature of developmental difficulties (see Figure 2). Frith suggests that there are three main perspectives on any
