Careers skills is a compulsory module for all Year 2 Economics students. It is not available to students from outside the School. It is one of a number of modules that make up the Nottingham Advantage Award.

Malaria
This course addresses the following: an introduction to malaria; clinical assessment of malaria; severe and complicated malaria; treatment of malaria; treatment defaults in malaria; malaria in pregnancy; prevention and control of malaria|community based management of fever in malaria; HIV/AIDS and malaria; counselling and health promotion in malaria; and malaria surveillance.

Statistics show 70 percent of the nation's nearly fifty million smokers want to quit. But only a fraction of those actually succeed, no matter what method they try.
Now, Duke University Medical Center researchers and experts at the National Institute on Drug Abuse say the genetic profile of an individual smoker can yield a "quit score" that, combined with that smoker's habits, can be used to identify which smoking cessation therapy could work best.

Addition and Subtraction Face-Off! Game
Students place markers on the numbers 2-12. Students toss two 6-sided dice, find the sum and remove a marker from that number, if there is still one. The first player to remove all markers wins the game. This game can be used as addition practice or as an introduction to the probability of the different outcomes of rolling two dice. This game was developed by a Monmouth University student for the Probability Fair. These games help students acquire proficiency in addition and subtraction facts.
