Green Games Build Eco-Awareness
UMass Amherst staff and students held the first Green Games sustainability competition involving hundreds of students in 23 residence halls. Teams earned points by attracting "likes" to videos on Facebook, for example, or getting fellow residents to attend films and lectures, reset laptops to low-energy mode, recycle used batteries and broken electronics, or tap into a water-conserving shorter shower competition.
