Achiever's Award Ceremony: GRCC student Javon Brown
Javon Brown, a student in GRCC's Automotive Technician Job Training program, recieves the state's Achiever's Award today.
The state Department of Human Services gives the Achiever's Award to people who have overcome significant life challenges to achieve self-sufficiency through the Michigan Works! PATH program.
Brown's obstacles included a criminal record and a spotty employment history, but he was determined to set all that behind him when he entered the GRCC program.
