Geometric Methods in Structural Computational Biology
This course is a short series of lectures on Structural Computational Biology, with an emphasis on geometric algorithms. Topics covered include basic data structures for modeling proteins; kinematics and inverse kinematics of protein chains; distance measures and alignment algorithms for protein structures; motif finding for the functional annotation of proteins; the application of robotics-derived methods to problems in protein modeling; and protein-ligand docking. The development of this cours
Course 5: Educating for Civil Societies
This final course in the Certificate of Teaching Mastery focuses on the application of teacher training to international development.
Course 3: Assessment Practices
In this course, you'll explore your own cultural competence in the classroom; apply multiculturalism to problem-solving; receive training on service learning; and discuss how to create and sustain connections with classrooms around the world.
Course 2: New Teaching Methods
In this course, teachers be introduced to thematic learning and cooperative learning techniques. Teachers will have a chance to develop lesson plans with these ideas in mind. You are given practical tools for classroom management and ways in which you can guide students to think about their own process of learning. Portions of this course have been reproduced from the encyclopedia of informal education: www.infed.org
Course 1: Education for the New Millennium
The first course in a five-course series updating teacher skills and mastery, the purpose of which is to enhance the teaching profession and build teacher mentors on a local level. In Course 1, In this course, you'll be introduced to educational theories and approaches to learning and how to apply them to your classroom; aspects of effective teaching; and contemporary issues in education. The material reflects a pattern of inclusive, discovery-oriented, culturally-attuned, and globally-aware tea
Waves and Optics
Fundamentals of oscillations and waves and properties of electromagnetic waves. Basic principles of geometric optics, interference and diffraction, including Fourier methods.
Seeing Using Sound
Elec 301 Project - Fall 2005. Seeing using Sound transforms images in to sound to aid blind people.
Reading Music: Common Notation
This course may be used to introduce or reinforce music-reading skills for someone just learning to play an instrument, or the individual lessons can be used to expand on basic music-reading […]
Pathway To Dreams
This course is a self paced question oriented path to help you as an artist determine your goals, direction and your voice.
Model Checking Concurrent Programs
Introduction to the use of Promela and SPIN as a model-checker for verifying concurrent programs. The underlying transition system is used as a model for the interpretation of Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) formulas.
Media Processing in Processing
A course on fundamentals of image/sound processing and graphic programming explained by means of the free language and environment Processing.
Investigation of Delay and Sum Beamforming Using a Two-Dimensional Array
Our final project for ELEC 301, Fall 2005. We investigated the delay and sum method of array beamforming, specifically through the analysis in Labview of data drawn from a two-dimensional eight microphone perimeter array.
In this course, you'll be introduced to educational theories and approaches to learning and how to apply them to your classroom; aspects of effective teaching; and contemporary issues in education. The material reflects a pattern of inclusive, discovery-oriented, culturally-attuned, and globally-aware teaching.
