Virtual Educational Resource for the Biosciences (VERB) - Eutherians - standalone HTML files
VERB is an online animal diversity resource designed to accompany undergraduate degrees in the Biosciences. In this package, entitled VERB Eutherians, the groups discussed are the living placental mammals. Contained are a series of web pages outlining the diversity of the eutherians from an evolutionary perspective. The topics of focus are phylogeny (evolutionary history) and functional anatomy, but subjects as wide as genetics, ecology, physiology, and developmental biology are discussed where
Virtual laboratories in Molecular and Cell Biology - SDS-PAGE
A protein analysis laboratory using SDS-PAGE, western-blotting and endoprotease digestion. The programme includes a section on the theory of the techniques, a video demonstration in a real laboratory, and a series of questions which guide the students through the structural analysis of model proteins (3 are included). Students go to the virtual laboratory and devise their own experiments in order to determine the molecular weight, subunit composition etc of the proteins. Results (gels and blots)
Manage business document design and management
This learning object covers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to determine the required standards for business documents and to design and develop these documents. Learners complete project tasks for a simulated business (ValleyView Publishing) or a real workplace. Learners prepare a document standards guide and document production procedures manual for ValleyView.
