Instead of teaching the history of the famous, use research in primary sources to teach students that the past and present were made by people like them.

Loodusteaduste visualiseerimine: protsesside virtuaalsed mudelid

Introduction to the Visual Arts, Fall 2004
Introduction to artistic practice and aesthetic analysis through studio work and lectures. Kid's Character Builder-Love-Part 2 of 2
In this video Mr. Conductor understands that Stevie gave up his heart ticket for the music machine to his sister Nancy. Cute songs are played. Some lyrics include " Love is walking with someone when someone needs a helping hand. Thank You for your gift of love". This video is a great resource for a teachable moment that arises in the classroom. This is also beneficial for a counseling group/individual lesson (5:03).

The Arctic Circle Polar Bears
This video has no words or facts but is instead a wonderful look into animals of the Arctic Circle in their natural habitats. The most viewed animal is the polar bear including a mother and her 2 cubs. Some other animals briefly seen include the Arctic Fox, two different types of birds, and reindeer. This video would be fun for pre-learners to see these animals outside of a zoo setting, but older learners could follow the lesson underneath the video to answer the following questions:

A field of soil
Soil is an example of a non-living thing. Soil contains nutrients and living organisms, but the soil itself is not alive. Soil is important in plant growth because soil gives plants a place to anchor their roots and it also provides the plant with essential nutrients.
A fern plant in forest habitat
Ferns and horsetails are well-known seedless vascular plants. Different from mosses, ferns have branched spore producing structures which allows for the plant to produce many spores. The spots on the leaves of the fern contain the spores.

Why Thinking-By-Numbers is the New Way to be Smart
Today's best and brightest organisations are analysing massive databases at lightning speed to provide greater insights into human behaviour. From internet sites like Google and Amazon that know your tastes better than you do, to a physician's diagnosis and your child's education, to boardrooms and government agencies, a new breed of decision makers--call them super crunchers--are calling the shots. And they are delivering staggeringly accurate results. Want to know the value of a particular win
Cool It: global warming and getting our priorities straight
Current policy proposals on global warming tend to focus on early and strong greenhouse gas cuts, although these will be very expensive and help very little. Lomborg suggests that we should focus on long-term, smart strategies. Bjørn Lomborg is director of the Copenhagen Consensus Centre at Copenhagen Business School. Lomborg was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2004. He is the author of the bestselling The Skeptical Environmentalist (CUP, 2001) w

In Conversation with Amartya Sen
Nobel Prize winner Professor Amartya Sen will discuss his latest book The Idea of Justice with LSE's Professor Richard Sennett. This major philosophical work by one of the world's leading public intellectuals constructs a new theory of justice, not from abstract ideals or notions of what perfect institutions and rules might be, but from what the results of a system are practically, in the world. It highlights the importance of public reasoning and argues that a system of justice should require t
