(Emma) Lilian Todd found a patron in the elderly and restless Olivia Sage. Sage, who probably came to know Todd through Helen Gould, had faith in her abilities and gave her $7,000 to design and build the plane seen here. It was constructed by Witteman Brothers of Staten Island.
