Kite Properties
This video describes the properties of a kite. Knowing the properties of a kite will help when solving problems with missing sides and angles. Kite properties include (1) two pairs of consecutive, congruent sides, (2) congruent non-vertex angles and (3) perpendicular diagonals. Other important polygon properties to be familiar with include trapezoid properties, parallelogram properties, rhombus properties, and rectangle and square properties. (1:59)
South Africa's FinMin talks future
South Africa's Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan tells Reuters that Africa is "the continent of the future" when it comes to investment for 2011 with more potential than many emerging markets.
Interpreting Graphs
This video clip describes how interpreting graphs involves understanding what the shape of a curve represents in real life situations. We should also understand what slope means and how to interpret what a high or low slope value represents. An understanding of plotting points is also important. (1:42)
Where Does Affordable Housing Money Come From? Understanding the flow of investment in City Heights
With inflation outpacing wage increases along with the economic downturn in recent years, the need and demand for affordable housing units has skyrocketed. In the last decade development firms have increasingly tried to provide affordable housing units, but the obstacle is how much funding and incentives do they receive for these types of units? This proposal analyzed the affordable housing situation in City Heights by looking at the sources of funding for affordable housing developments, how i
4.125 Architecture Studio: Building in Landscapes (MIT)
4.125 is the third undergraduate design studio. This subject introduces skills needed to build within a landscape establishing continuities between the built and natural world. Students learn to build appropriately through analysis of landscape and climate for a chosen site, and to conceptualize design decisions through drawings and models.

The Arab uprising
Colonel Gaddafi needs to engage the 'hearts and minds' of his people rather than deploying extreme repression to keep power, but even if he does survive, the new Libya will look more like the old Iraq says author and Middle East journalist Jim Krane, currently a doctoral candidate in energy policy at Cambridge Judge Business School.
Knowledge technologies in context
This unit explores knowledge technologies, that is, software systems that can represent, interpret, formalise or interrogate phenomena and create models of how the world works. It demonstrates how a well designed system can have positive effects on the work ‘ecosystem’, potentially allowing more time for people to concentrate on their strengths. Emphasising core concepts of representation, interpretation and situated use in context, this unit will help masters students and those involved in
Managing local practices in global contexts
It is hard to think of a part of the world that has not been touched by globalisation. From ‘Big Macs’ in Moscow to Blockbuster video in Beijing the world seems less distant and twenty-four-hour-a-day news makes foreign places more familiar. This unit examines the dimensions of globalisation and the processes that connect people together.
Influences on accounting regulation
Financial reporting is a complex issue. This unit looks at the historical development of financial regulation and reporting across Europe and the world. You will also examine how both Anglo-Saxon and ‘commercial code’ accounting have expanded to become the two main accounting systems used today.
Rhombus Properties
Properties of rhombi often show up in geometric proofs and many other types of problems. This video explains how all parallelogram properties apply to rhombus properties since a rhombus is a type of parallelogram. In a rhombus, there are (1) two pairs of parallel sides, (2) four sides that are all congruent to each other, (3) diagonals that bisect the angles, and (4) diagonals that are perpendicular bisectors of each other. (1:48)
Unit Circle Coordinates
This video explains how the unit circle has a radius of one and is centered at the origin of the coordinate plane. It is a concept that frequently occurs in many of the math subjects, especially those where Trigonometry is used. Questions asking about unit circle coordinates often give an unknown coordinate and require us to use the properties of a unit circle to calculate these coordinates. (2:34)
