Since 2003, the Colors of Concordia has been dedicated to encouraging and promoting projects that help bring about a greater understanding between cultures. Consisting of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, the Colors of Concordia participates annually in Montreal's Tour de l'Ile, a 50-km bike tour of the city. Chanting OM: how to teach kids to chant
This four minute video explains how to teach kids to chant OM effectively and simply using the sounds A U M as well as two different mudras (hand positions). The video lessons can be taught to all grade levels, but this video is directed to elementary aged students.

On June 5, 2012, researchers from Concordia University were honoured with awards that recognize outstanding accomplishments in different fields of scholarship. The evening celebration saw the presentation of the University Research Awards, the Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award, four new awards by the Centre for Academic Leadership, and the induction of eight Concordians into the Provost's Circle of Distinction.

Venus transits the sun.
On June 5 2012, the Solar Dynamics Observatory collected images of the rarest predictable solar event--the transit of Venus across the face of the sun. This event lasted approximately 6 hours and happens in pairs eight years apart, which are separated from each other by 105 or 121 years. The last transit was in 2004 and the next will not happen until 2117. Footage courtesy of Goddard Space Center
