Dredging Pumps and Slurry Transport
The purpose of this course is to convey knowledge of the various physical processes associated with slurry handling and transport during dredging. This knowledge is needed for the design of dredging equipment and for planning efficient equipment operations. The various processes are discussed and theories and simulation models that describe the processes are presented and compared during the course. The course can be broken down into four elements: 1.

Although the site is for a manufacturer of synthetic oil, there is a good amount of interesting physical science information. The second site provides an educational resource activity by The
Designing Medical Devices for the Ear
Students are introduced to engineering, and more specifically, to biomedical engineering and the engineering design process through a short lecture and interactive, hands-on activity (approximately 30 minutes long), where students design their own medical device for retrieving foreign bodies from the ear canal. In this lesson, the teacher first reviews the basics of ear anatomy then discusses how ear infections occur and how they are treated. Following antibiotic treatment, the most common treat

South Island Wren--An Overview
This short video gives excellent real life, close up footage of a South Island Wren. The South Island wren is a small but robust alpine bird with a very short tail, rounded wings, and long legs and toes. Ghana Empire
This two minute video is about the Ghana empire, located in West Africa. It tells how it became a wealthy empire because they were in the center of the caravan routes and taxed other Muslims, during the gold-salt trade. The people of Ghana didn't want to adopt the Muslim religion, but later on, the desert Arabs invaded their territory and forced them to practice the Muslim religion, or else they would be killed.
