LSE Literary Weekend - How Would a Robot Read a Novel?
Don't judge a book by its cover? Don't be ridiculous. We constantly make judgements on books – from where it appears in a shop, its pretty cover, its heft or subject matter, the praise and criticism we hear about it. Reviewers are even more prejudiced. They know the author, or hate the publisher or, even worse, are a meticulous and lucid expert on the subject. All human readings are subjective. Is there another way? GlobalFIA
This site by GlobalFia provides a tutorial on the general aspects of flow injection analysis (FIA), sequential injection analysis (SIA) and the newly coined zone fluidics. Thus, it serves as an excellent resource for teaching flow methods to both undergraduates and graduate students, and as a refresher to practitioners. The tutorials are divided into 9 sections: introduction, fundamentals, dispersion, enrichment, chemistry, SIA, zone fluidics and bibliography. This modular approach makes inform

End Sequence Profiling Computational Lab - Oliver Hampton
Computational laboratory: Starting from a set of breast cancer BACs (bacterial artificial chromosomes) End Sequence Profiling (ESP) is performed. ESP analysis sequences the ends of insert DNA in order to characterize genomic rearrangements that may be involved in breast cancer progression. In this study, genomic rearrangements are characterized from 100 breast cancer BACs and 10,000 Fosmids (derived from a pool of the 100 originating BAC) using ESP. Analysis and comparison of both BAC and Fosmid
