World's first chimeric monkeys are born
Jan. 5 - Researchers in Oregon have produced the world's first chimeric monkeys. Unlike naturally-conceived animals whose individual cells contain the same genetic structure, the monkeys are composed of a mixture of cells containing different genomes. "How often have you seen someone fail to move ahead in life because they were afraid of facing the unknown? How often have you seen someone endlessly seek guidance and expertise, and never actually act? The belief that we must become fully knowledgeable (and certified by others) BEFORE moving ahead is a great disincentive t

Sulfur Hexafluoride
It’s not magic, kiddo. It’s science! Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) is a colorless, odorless gas that is more dense than air at 6.12 g/L (at sea level). This density is why you can pour it into a glass container and float a light-weight aluminum “boat” on its gas “sea.” Watch this demonstration at the Physikshow of the University of Bonn! (0:30)
What in the World is a Tapir?

With bombs and guns and shovels and battle-gear,
Men jostle and climb to meet the bristling fire.
Lines of grey, muttering faces, masked with fear,
They leave their trenches, going over the top,
