This educational video explains the greenhouse effect. It describes the process how the earth’s atmosphere captures the sun’s heat to maintains the earth’s temperature. However, the emission of green house gases from industries and cars have thickened our atmosphere and therefore earth’s atmosphere captures more heat than required, resulting in global warming. This effect is known as the green house effect. There is no sound in the video.
Understanding Weightlessness
Weightlessness - Professor Steven Pollock explains weightlessness in this video from Thinkwell's online Physics series. The video uses lecture format, pictures, and a whiteboard to aid in the explanations about apparent weight, Newton's Laws, and weightlessness. Run time 10:13.
Understanding Weight vs Mass
In everyday language, the words "mass" and "weight" are used interchangably but they really are different things when it comes to physics. Professor Steven Pollock explains weight in this video from Thinkwell's online Physics series. The video uses lecture format, demonstration, and a whiteboard to aid in the explanation. Run time 09:16.
Understanding Logical Statements, Part 5 of 5
In a conversational tone, Sal Khan offers an ending commentary to his series about mathematical logic statements. Mr. Khan uses the Paint Program (with different colors) to illustrate his points. Sal Khan is the recipient of the 2009 Microsoft Tech Award in Education. (03:28)
Understanding Logical Statements, Part 1 of 5
"Identify the hypothesis and conclusion of the following statement, and determine whether the statement is always, sometimes, or never true." In this video, Sal Khan offers an introduction to understanding mathematical logic statements. Mr. Khan uses the Paint Program (with different colors) to illustrate his points. Sal Khan is the recipient of the 2009 Microsoft Tech Award in Education. (03:53)
Understanding Logical Statements, Part 2 of 5
Sal Khan continues his discussion using the same statement as the last video in this series, but adds a different logic problem to solve: "Identify the hypothesis and conclusion of the following statement, and determine whether the statement is always, sometimes, or never true." In this video, Sal offers an introduction to understanding mathematical logic statements. Sal uses the Paint Program (with different colors) to illustrate his points. (06:43)
Understanding Logical Statements, Part 3 of 5
"Determine whether the statement is always, sometimes, or never true, and explain why." Sal Khan takes a mathematical statement and helps the viewer make sense out it. Mr. Khan uses the Paint Program (with different colors) to illustrate his points. Sal Khan is the recipient of the 2009 Microsoft Tech Award in Education. (03:12)
Understanding Logical Statements, Part 4 of 5
"Determine whether the statement is always, sometimes, or never true, and explain why." Sal Khan continues with this logic statement and works step-by-step through it.
