Wilfred Owen was particularly proud of this poem, he showed it to Robert Graves who encouraged him to publish.
He sat in a wheeled chair, waiting for dark,
And shivered in his ghastly suit of grey,
Legless, sewn short at the elbow. Through the park
Voices of boys rang saddening like a hymn,

History of Egypt Part One: Ancient Times Through Cleopatra

Roman Timeline
An eight minute illustrated Roman Timeline from 753 B.C to 1453. There is no narration, but the images and written explanation are good and present a picture of what was happening during this time period. A good introduction, but moves too rapidly for students to take notes.
Five Facts about China
Five Facts about China - Learn about dinosaur fossils in China, the return of Hong Kong to Chinese rule, dolphins in the Yangtze River, the Kashgar bazaar and the study of Confucius' teachings in schools. This five minute video offers students a chance to expand their understanding of the geography and history of China. Good images.
Healing in Ancient Greece
This 1:34 video explains the Greek sanctuaries that
honor Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine and how
performing at the theater were ways the Greeks believed improved their health. This would make a good video for explaining how that being able to express yourself is believed to be helpful as well as a good video to show how health was a such concern to the Greeks. Would be a nice contrast/compare to television commercials for health products.
Ancient Egyptian Religion and Myths
This five minute video explains how their gods formed the bases for many of the country's cultural beliefs and events. The gods are explained and their deeds explained. The images are vivid. A good overview for students. The students might benefit from a word wall filled with the names of the gods and their relationships.
The Renaissance
This one minute video shows how artists developed perspective and reality in their art. Very short video.
