Malka Rosenthal est née en 1934 dans la ville de Stanislawow en Galicie orientale, sous le nom de Marisha Doulberg, fille aînée d'une famille cultivée et aisée. Son père rejoignit les partisans, elle, fut accueillit chez une famille polonaise qui la cacha pendant un an et demi dans un tonneau.

Yosseph Neuhaus est né dans la ville de Lodz en Pologne, en 1924. Fils aîné de Tova et Zvi Hirsch, il est issu d'une famille cultivée et aisée de Lodz. En mai 1940, Yosseph fut déporté avec ses parents et sa petite sœur, Sofia, dans le ghetto de Lodz.
Quatre ans plus tard, les derniers juifs du ghetto, furent déportés vers le camp de concentration et d'extermination Auschwitz-Birkenau. La famille Neuhaus est parmi eux. Yosseph fut transféré d'Auschwitz vers le camp de concentration

Avraham Aviel (Lipkonsky), born in 1929 in Dowgalishok, Poland. On 10 May 1942, Aviel and his family were taken together with the Jews of Radun (the village of the Rabbinic leader, the Chafetz Chaim) and the surrounding areas to be murdered in killing pits. His mother and brother Yekutiel (Koshka) were among those executed. Avraham and his brother Pinchas managed to escape.
