The Train Game is part of WPSU’s Blue Ribbon Readers, a collection of seven interactive games designed to help elementary school students gain reading comprehension competences. The Train Game helps students develop synthesis skills by asking them to group words together to form sentences.
Blue Ribbon Readers: Fridge Magnet Interactive Game
The Fridge Magnet Game is part of WPSU’s Blue Ribbon Readers, a collection of seven interactive games designed to help elementary school students gain reading comprehension competences. The game provides practice with the monitoring and clarifying strategies. It requires students to identify confusing words (by monitoring) and to replace them with words from an alternate word pool that make sense in the sentence (clarifying).
Blue Ribbon Readers: Make Connections (Interactive)
This WPSU interactive Make Connections Game gives students practice in making mental connections between the text and things the reader already knows. These connections can include things readers have read (text-to-text), things they've seen or heard (text-to-world), and things they've done (text-to-self). The game is part ofBlue Ribbon Readers, a collection of games designed to help elementary school students learn to read.

The Visualizing Game is part of WPSU’s Blue Ribbon Readers, a collection of seven interactive games designed to help elementary school students gain reading comprehension competences. Throughout the game students may practice creating and recalling mental images of the text. Some of the challenges involve static images and others use serial images—or "movies in the head."
Blue Ribbon Readers: The Questioning Cube Interactive Game
The Questioning Cube Game is part of WPSU’s Blue Ribbon Readers, a collection of seven interactive games designed to help elementary school students gain reading comprehension competences. In the game students practice asking questions about short stories or passages of expository prose. The practice of generating and answering their own questions before, during and after reading, helps students actively create solid mental connections.
Learn about all Jobs and Occupations
Child will learn all about the jobs and occupations in this interactive game. Each worker names their job and briefly explains what their job is. Some of the jobs include chef, car painter, dentist, actress, farmer, etc. This is a great resource to help build background knowledge and would work well in conjunction with a unit on community helpers. The speaker's voice is very robotic. (1:48)
