Economics
The Introductory Economics course is a collection of online experiments and related on-line workbooks which can be used by individual learners or to supplement an instructor lead course. In each experiment a student is an active participant attempting to make deals with other traders in a market. After each experiment, the data the students generated is stored and the student will use this data to complete an online workbook. The workbook guides the student through the analysis and much of the e

You will find not only fun interactive labs, but well designed and produced curriculum content, created by teachers for teachers. The powerful combination of inquiry-based content, along with interactive, hands-on labs provides a powerful visualization tool for you and your students to use. Best of all, the ASPIRE Lab is free!
Classroom Innovations through Lesson Study
Classroom Innovations through Lesson Study is an APEC EDNET Project that aims to improve the quality of education in the area of Mathematics. This project is sponsored by APEC Members Japan and Thailand. The APEC-Tsukuba International Conference III was broadcast live from Tokyo, December 9-10, 2007. The project has produced useful papers describing mathematical thinking, lesson videos of classroom instruction.
This project focuses on Lesson Study with the goal of improving the quality of educat
Physics to Go

Fuse Piece
In Fuse Piece (Calgary) Haegele uses Visco (a fireworks wick) to create a site-specific video around the area of Truck Gallery. This fuse burns across various sidewalks and background scenes of downtown Calgary, but never reaches its destination, provoking a feeling of anticipation that is ultimately unfulfilled.

Science, Statistics, Certainty from the course History of Information
This course explores the history of information and associated technologies, uncovering why we think of ours as 'the information age.' We will select moments in the evolution of production, recording, and storage from the earliest writing systems to the world of Short Message Service (SMS) and blogs. In every instance, we'll be concerned with both what and when and how and why, and we will keep returning to the question of technological determinism: how do technological developments affect socie
Language-independent conceptual "bugs" in novice programming
This article argues for the existence of persistent conceptual "bugs" in how novices program and understand programs. These bugs are not specific to a given programming language, but appear to be language-independent. Furthermore, such bugs occur for novices from primary school to college age. Three different classes of bugs-parallelism, intentionality, and egocentrism - are identified, and exemplified through student errors. It is suggested that these classes of conceptual bugs are rooted in a
Human and Artificial Agent's Conversations on the GRID
This position paper supports a conversational and social view of future e-Learning activities on the GRID.
This evolution of the Web seems to be nicely synergic with current developments in Agents and Agent Communication Languages.
Exactly what e-Learning needs in order to go over from a multimedia-based, passive or at best retroactive view of e-Learning resources to a proactive, peer-to-peer approach of social conversations among human and (progressively) artificial autonomous Agents.

CoP-independent meta-ontologies and support ontologies
This deliverable offers a theoretical background on which the KM services will be based. It deals with the meta-models necessary for the Knowledge Management services and concerns the development and the choices of CoP-independent ontologies. The existing models for each main concept determined as important in a CoP are presented, the discussions on these models summarized and finally the proposal of the model adopted for Palette is presented.,PALETTE deliverable - report number D.KNO.01 - 83 pa
