Rescued by Righteous Among the Nations: Regina (Rotenberg) Wolbrom's testimony
In September 1942 Tena and Moszek Rotenberg, Jewish refugees from Germany, asked Father Celis to save their four children. The children's parents were deported shortly after, but Father Celis kept his promise and with the help his family and other rescuers sheltered Regina and her siblings. In May 1944 Regina was denounced and arrested. She was deported to Auschwitz, but survived. After liberation she returned to Belgium where she was reunited with her siblings, and later emigrated to the USA.
