Ivar Aasen-tunet is a centre for documentation and information about Nynorsk (New Norwegian) and Ivar Andreas Aasen. The centre is sponsored by Nynorsk kultursentrum (New Norwegian Culture Centre). Ivar Andreas Aasen (1813 - 1896) was a Norwegian philologist, lexicographer, playwright and poet and it is his work in reforming the language that led to the creation of Nynorsk which is one of the two official languages
