Actress and Montgomery native Octavia Spencer is the sixth of seven siblings with a passion for the film industry. After graduating from Jefferson Davis High School in 1988, she attended Auburn and earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts in 1994. She began her professional acting career in 1996, portraying a nurse in the movie "A Time to Kill," but is best known for her recent role as Minny Jackson in the 2011 film "The Help." This short video gives excellent real life footage of Steller's Sea Lion colony. Students will enjoy the sights and sounds of these amazing animals as they interact in their natural environment. Steller's sea lion is the largest of the eared seals (members of the family Otariidae), a group that includes fur seals and sea lions.
