Has Fairtrade Asked for Enough?
In this discussion event, a range of speakers look back over 15 years of the Fairtrade Mark and consider whether the movement for a fairer trading system has been ambitious enough. Is Fairtrade catalysing broader social change? Should Fairtrade be working with big corporates and retailers? Is Fairtrade moving producers up the value chain? Is it time to make the rules harder? How Marshall Field Succeeded "Sultana" at Helena, Arkansas Le développement de l'intelligence chez l'enfant - Olivier HOUDE (video)
This cute video shows different modes of transportation and displays the matching word. Some of the vehicles include motor scooter, bike, unicycle, yacht, and submarine. Some of the lyrics include "How do you get from A to B? Over land, through the air, or on the sea". This is a good teaching resource for a thematic unit on transportation and/or community members. It is beneficial for young elementary students and/or special education students and helps to build background knowledge. (2:12)
Auburn University researchers and students are mapping thousands of utility meters, valves and fire hydrants along Alabama's Gulf Coast -- a project that will help communities recover quicker after hurricanes.
Walking along streets and beaches, they have covered 90 miles and recorded more than 12,000 utility points in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, typing in the locations on advanced GPS units.
