Information for poster presenters

Poster size

You will be allocated a space on a poster display board. Your poster should be A1 in size. This is either 841 x 594 millimetres or 33.11 x 23.39 inches (height x width). Please ensure that your poster is no bigger than these specifications. Drawing pins, etc will be provided for you to fix your poster to your board. You do not need to send your poster in advance. Please bring your poster with you on the day and display this yourself.

Handouts

There will be no photocopying facilities available on the day so you are asked to bring copies of handouts with you (70 delegates are expected). You handout should include a summary of your poster, your name, institutional affiliation and contact details. Envelopes will be provided for you to display your handouts on your poster board.

The day of the conference

You will be able to put up your poster from 9.00am onwards. Official conference registration takes place between 9.30-10.15am (see conference timetable). Ideally, we want to have all posters in place by 10.15, when the first plenary is due to begin, but if this is not possible due to your travel arrangements, then we ask that all posters are in place at the very latest by the end of the first coffee break (11.45am).

Official poster session

Conference delegates will be encouraged to look at the posters during all coffee/tea breaks and during lunch. The official poster session will take place between 1.30-2.00pm. During this time, you should stand by your poster in order to address any questions or comments that delegates may have about your display.

Prizes

There will be prizes for the best posters on the day of the conference. The posters will be judged by the plenary speakers, Bob Arundale and Jonathan Culpeper.
