The National Westminster Bank Prize in Health Care of the Elderly
Background to the award
Established in 1994 from a donation by the National Westminster Bank Plc.Conditions of the award are as follows:
- The award shall be called the National Westminster Bank Prize in Health Care of the Elderly.
- The Prize shall be awarded annually by Senate on the recommendation of the Board of the Faculty or equivalent of Medicine and Health Sciences to a student nominated by the head of the School of Health Care of the Elderly.
- The student, in addition to achieving a high level of attainment throughout the attachment in Health Care of the Elderly, will have demonstrated special interest, skills, enterprise and leadership beyond the requirements of the course itself. In that wider context, the student will have shown an awareness of the importance of both present and future developments in health care for the elderly.
- The prize shall be to the value of £250.
- There are no conditions as to how the prize money shall be spent.
- The prize may be divided but may not be held over if a candidate of sufficient merit cannot be identified.
