Nottingham University Composites Club was formed in July 1990 in
order to promote the technical advancement and application of composite
materials.
The Club provides an industrial interface for groups working in
composites research at The University of Nottingham and other research
and educational establishments. The Club meets at two-monthly intervals
and offers the opportunity for informal contact between Club members
and their guests. The meetings
vary in content and include seminars, case studies, site visits
and demonstrations.
The programme aims to provide broad appeal and caters for those
with interests in polymer, metal and ceramic matrix composites.
The present membership is a mixture of large and small organisations
representing automotive, aeropsace, moulders and the materials supply
industry. In addition to their technical content, the meetings provide
opportunities for informal technical discussion and development
of new contacts.
Club membership brings access to a wide range of testing and consultancy
services. Research services are available on long or short term
contracts and an expanding programme of post-experience short courses
in many aspects of composite materials engineering are available
at favourable rates to Club members.
