The Babblings meetings grew out of groups from the uk.media.tv.sf.babylon5 Usenet newsgroup meeting up for booze-ups in London and elsewhere in the UK. However, since then Babblings has gone on to organise meetings of 100-150 at a time with star guests such as Jason Carter and JMS (with the help of Wolf and the UK Fan Club), and Wayne Alexander (with the help of Ali Hopkins).
In fact, the newsgroup became such a social whirl that a new social newsgroup was been formed. The pub booze-ups continue, of course.. A further potted history can be found at the Central Babblings site.
Thanks should go primarily to Paul Harper and Sarah Baker for their original hard work in organising the bigger events especially. Also of note is the hard work of Robbie Irvine, Stephen Beckwith and Gareth Kingston. More recently, many central Babblings events were organised by a collection of 9 of us. However, these days we simply meet from time to time in The Paviours Arms in Pimlico, London for a chat and a drink.
In addition to London, events (not necessarily Babblings ones) are held frequently but irregularly in other parts of the country - for instance, Leeds, Oxford, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bath, and Southend...
For more, it's best to ask around on the social newsgroup, or in the Interweb links in Gold Channel.
Although Babblings is not a conventionally defined organisation, it has run to some merchandise - contact Sarah Baker for a current list of items.

Please also check out the

Support Babylon5 Page
on the official B5 server. The show has made it through to its final
fifth season, thanks to the auspices of TNT in the US who provided
extra funding. Warners will be revamping the Support B5 site to
reflect this. In the meantime, there's still the spin-off
series, "The Babylon Project: Crusade", to support! At present, the
Support page is US-based: Channel 4's details for UK viewers can be found
here.

be! ;-) ) can be contacted at:
