I have a PhD in Information Systems from Brunel University, an MSc in Informatics from Edinburgh University where my specialism was knowledge management and engineering, and a BSc in Information Management from the Queen's University of Belfast. I have a diploma in learning and teaching in higher education and am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I am also a member of the Association for Information Systems and the International Association for Development of the Information Society.
I am the author of Searching For Patterns published by Nottingham University Press and Competitive Information In Small Businesses, published by Kluwer. I am co-author of Principles of Business Information Systems, published by Cengage Learning.

     

I also wrote Gumbo and the Metallers From Mars. I was previously a provisional writer associate at Mercury Musical Developments.
Before coming to Nottingham, I was a lecturer in the School of Computing, Napier University and before that, a senior lecturer in the Department of Computing and IT at Bucks New University.
