Cell Biophysics Group;Membrane Biology & BionanotechnologyOur laboratory specialises in studies of biological membranes, bionanotechnology and the biophysics of molecular and cellular interactions - we try to take a Systems or Translational approach such that the molecular analysis is done within the context of cellular and physiological problems and sometimes as a whole organism issue. Our overall philosophy is outlined here.. Our group is part of the School of Biology and the Institute of Biophysics, Imaging & optical Science [iBIOS] at the University of Nottingham and physically located on the University Park Campus, Nottingham, NG7 2RD England U.K. We are also part of the The Centre for Genetics and Genomics and as we develop a better understanding of how networks of molecules interact within cells, we hope to apply this to genetic networks. There are a number of full time research staff as well as postdoctoral research assistants and postgraduate research students; the overall programme of research is directed by: Prof. Paul O'Shea Some of our research has become highly relevant to the biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries ; we are keen to collaborate and urge such companies to make contact ..
