Astrochemistry Young Researchers Meeting

CANCELLED. Unfortunately, due to low numbers of registered participants, this meeting has been cancelled. It will be combined with the annual Astrophysical Chemistry Group meeting in January.

To be held at Lenton and Wortley Hall, University of Nottingham, 11am – 5pm, Friday 12th September 2008.

The Astrochemistry Young Researchers Meeting is a one day conference, organised by the Astrophysical Chemistry Group of the RAS and RSC, aimed primarily at postgraduate students and new post-docs working in the field of astrochemistry. The meeting covers all aspects of the subject, from observations and laboratory experiments to theoretical and computational modelling.

Students and post-docs are encouraged to present their work in short talks (15 min) or as poster presentations. The programme of talks and posters should, like previous meetings in this series, serve as an excellent introduction to astrochemistry for researchers just starting out in this exciting field.

Previous meetings in this series have been a great success; the programmes for 2007 and 2006 are available to give an indication of the broad range of topics covered.

There will be no registration fee for this meeting and tea/coffee/lunch will be provided free of charge.

Registration is now open, the deadline is Friday 29th August 2008.

If you wish to give a talk or poster presentation, please register, where you will be invited to submit a title. The deadline for title submissions is Friday 22nd August 2008 (note this is earlier than the registration deadline). A programme of talks will be put together and confirmed to speakers once this deadline has passed. The poster session will be held to accompany lunch; a prize will be awarded for the best student poster.

If there is sufficient demand, accommodation may be available at the venue for the night of Thursday 11th September.
