International Travel

About 30 international airlines from Europe and overseas fly to Finland. The closest airports to Turku are:

Turku airport
Both SAS and Blue1 fly directly to Turku from Copenhagen and Stockholm. Wizzair currently flies between Gdansk and Turku.

Helsinki-Vantaa airport
A number of airlines run international flights to Helsinki, including SAS and Finn Air.

Tampere-Pirkkala airport
Flights from London (Stansted), Dublin, Bremen, Frankfurt, Milan and Riga to Tampere are run by Ryanair.

Ferries from Stockholm to the Port of Turku or the Port of Helsinki are run by Silja Line and Viking Line.

Airport transfers

Turku airport
There are buses every 20 minutes from the airport to downtown Turku, the journey takes about 10 minutes. A taxi journey will cost approximately €15.

Helsinki-Vantaa airport
There are connecting flights (about 20 minutes) between Turku and Helsinki run by Finn Air. Buses between Helsinki Airport and Turku takes approximately two and a half hours. Trains from downtown Helsinki to Turku take approximately two hours.

Tampere-Pirkkala airport
Buses between downtown Tampere and Turku take between two and three hours depending on the time of day. Trains from downtown Tampere to Turku take approximately an hour and forty minutes.
