Feb 17thAsaAsa's talk about 'Ekpyrosis - Cyclical Universes' (Asa's talk!)

Interested parties should look to Paul Steinhardt's homepage for several articles about these types of models and why inflation doesn't solve the problems it claims to.

http://wwwphy.princeton.edu/~steinh/

In particular I found 'An Introduction to the Cyclic Universe' & 'The Cyclic Universe Simplified' really good to begin with. Then if you fancy some more hard work graduate onto:  'A Cyclic Model of the Universe' or 'What do Inflation and Cyclic models REALLY predict for the spectral tilt?'

Many of these papers are published in various places, astro-ph, phys letters, SCIENCE, NATURE etc. but by far the best place to look is the homepage above.
