Biography

William is a PhD candidate conducting research on the use of macroprudential policy to stabilize financial cycles in DSGE models, with special focus on implementation and distributional issues.

He also works as Principal Research Economist at the Research Department of the Central Bank of Malta.

He has previously been the lead on the inflation forecast process for Malta, and has participated in various task-forces at the European Central Bank. More recently, his focused switched to the analysis of house prices and the housing market, working on measures of under/over-valuation through the use of statistical and econometric methods.

William has also worked as a Visiting Assistant Lecturer at the University of Malta.

Current Research

My primary research interests are the use of DSGE models to study the impact of macroprudential policies. My secondary research interests are numerical methods used to solve and simulate DSGE models, and building short to medium term inflation forecasting models.
