Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering
Steve Morgan is Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. His research involves the development of medical devices with sensing capability. For example, a smart endotracheal tube (iTraXS) and a smart wound dressing for monitoring healing rate and infection. He recently completed a 5-year Royal Society Industry Fellowship where he gained valuable experience of entrepreneurship. He is Director of the Centre for Healthcare Technologies at Nottingham, which aims to bring together key stakeholders, capabilities and expertise to support the rapid translation of scientific discoveries into healthcare adoption. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a Fellow of the SPIE (the international society for optics).
Steve is a member of the Optics and Photonics research group.
