Research Fellow in Corpus Linguistics, Faculty of Social Sciences
BA (New Hampshire) MA, PhD (Nottingham)
I am a Research Fellow in Corpus Linguistics working on the EPSRC-funded project STEMM Change: uncovering barriers to inclusion and transforming institutional culture. This work examines exclusionary language patterns in public engagement and recruitment discourse and explores their impact on equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. I am involved in several impact acceleration collaborations that facilitate knowledge exchange and co-development of interventions based on some of the project's key findings.
Prior to this I held teaching positions at De Montfort University and the University of Nottingham.
I am a member of Linguistic Profiling for Professionals (LiPP), based in the the Centre for Research in Applied Linguistics (CRAL).
