The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China (UNNC), a pioneer in Sino-foreign tertiary education, is rapidly expanding.It is looking for ambitious, talented academics with a passion for research and teaching to join one of its prominent faculty, Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China). The award winning campus in China, the home to over 7,000 students and about 400 academic staff, is an integral part of the University of Nottingham that offers unique teaching and research opportunities in a highly dynamic economy where all the courses are taught entirely in English with the same standards of assessment offering the same UK degree.
NUBS China now has approximately 2,200 undergraduate students, 300 postgraduate students, a Ph.D. program, and growing executive education activity. It has a rapidly expanding international faculty of about 90 coming from about 30 countries permanently based in UNNC.It is EQUIS accredited and is part of a university that is highly rated and is seeking to improve further its ranking among the world’s top research and teaching universities with its ambitious plans to rapidly progress towards an increasing focus on high impact research, customized executive education, and high quality teaching.NUBS China focuses its efforts around the three Is-international, Innovative, and Interactive.In addition, NUBS China, which carries out instruction in English, is significantly increasing its research focus and provides an excellent environment and conditions for scholars interested in pursuing an active research agenda.
Candidates must have a PhD in a relevant discipline.Excellent English communication skills are essential together with teaching abilities. Candidates are also expected to have demonstrated an ability to conduct high-quality research with the evidence such as publications in FT 50 and ABS level 4 journals. Candidates with a track record of attracting significant research funding will also be highly appreciated. The role holder will be expected to undertake academic leadership and managerial responsibilities within the School. There are excellent opportunities for research, and the person appointed will be expected to develop their own research activities and to lead research activities in the School.
Salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience and will be within the Professorial range. In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments. The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of 5 years. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
