Division of Clinical Neuroscience

We are the largest division in the School of Medicine. We bring together leading clinical and laboratory neuroscientists across the fields of:

  • anaesthesia
  • hearing sciences
  • neuroimaging
  • neurology
  • ophthalmology
  • stroke (including cardiovascular medicine).

We address key areas relevant to clinical neurosciences using a spectrum of methods. This includes embracing basic science, translational and experimental medicine, and clinical research including large randomised trials.

Much of this work is embedded in the NHS, particularly the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. We bring cutting-edge clinical care to our patients and clinical relevance to our research and teaching.

Our research is founded in excellence. It builds on the work of pioneers in Nottingham, particularly the Nobel Prize-winner Professor Sir Peter Mansfield.
