My main research interests in theoretical physics are to understand various structures in quantum field theory and theories of gravity. Of particular interest are the non-perturbative properties of field theories, such as solitonic objects, and their dynamical behaviour. This includes the study of supersymmetric solutions of supergravity; the implications of braneworlds; the interaction of topological defects; scaling solutions in cosmology; reheating after inflation; the statistical properties of cosmic string networks. This is an incredibly rich area of study and allows one to learn many skills, from analytic techniques to large-scale computer simulations.
