Biography

Simone Papale is a PhD Student in International Relations at the School of Politics and International Relations. He obtained his BA in Political Sciences and International Relations from the University of Pisa in 2014. In 2017 he graduated in International Relations (Strategy and International Conflicts) at the University of Bologna.

Current Research

Simone's PhD project investigates the impact of donors' aid policies in sub-Saharan Africa. In the last two decades Western donors have provided increasing assistance to African governments, establishing several humanitarian and development projects in vulnerable areas of the continent. The research aims at investigating the effects of such measures in increasing well-being and security of targeted populations.
